16 days, 1883 miles, 4 wheels, 2 people & 1 wedding anniversary.
This trip was the inaugural long distance test run in our recently self-converted Toyota Hiace camper van, and even if I do say so myself, it was a runaway success that shall hopefully be repeated at the earliest possible opportunity.
Our route was basically a fast-as-possible dash south towards the warmer weather that certainly wasn’t apparent when we landed in Normandy, and then a gentle meander back up North to meet our return ferry at Dieppe.
We mainly stayed on France Passion stopover sites which include vineyards, orchards, farms, cheese producers and so on. The facilities are great, but can be basic at some of them, and you aren’t really encouraged to stay for more than a single night at a time, so we also used campsites where we could use all the usual facilities. We also managed a couple of cheeky nights in side streets and car parks when in towns for a reminder of urban life.
It was a LOT of driving, but I did manage to take a few pics…
